Brewed 20090829

NB Tonguesplitter +2.5 lb pale 2row.

Doughed in a little low to 151.  No temperature loss. During mash.

At 60min iodine test showed complete conversion.  vorlauf 2qt.  Drained remainder to kettle.  Batch sparged with infusion to 168.  vorlauf 2qt.

Pre-boil volume ~5.5 gal, gravity 13% brix (1.053).

Boiled down to about 4.5 gal, topped off to 5 gal.  OG 12.6^ (1.051)

BrewTarget shows 1.055@70%, 1.051@65%
ProMash shows 1.063@70%, 1.051@57%

Wyeast Northwestern didn't do anything in the 500mL starter after 16h, but pitched anyway.  No activity +24h.

Pitched 11g Nottingnam dry 20090830.

Target FG 1.010, 5.3% ABV (BrewTarget)

Active fermentation +6h after pitching Nottingham

20090907, racked to 2ndary.  5.6% brix (1.004, 6.1%)
Added .5oz cascade, .5oz sterling for dry hop.

20090912, into cold storage

20090928, racked to keg and started carbonation
FG 5.6% (1.004, 6.1%)

20091004, tasted.  A bit cloudy.  Good bitterness, hop flavor and aroma.  Not as aggressive as expected, but definitely on the hoppy side.
